yesterday i made green chile chicken enchiladas.... and they actually were delicious!!!
boy was i scared lol. i thought they were going to turn out horribly since its really hard to find the exact ingredients and everything. but surprisingly they were quite the success. it only took like 3 hours to make them lol including searching for everthing like ¨chile¨(we resorted to not very hot at all jalepeños), the tortillas and ¨cheddar¨cheese¨. we ended up using this cheese resembling cheddar and some other normal argentine cheese that is semi bland but sort of tastes like string cheese at the end lol but it worked really well. also i had to exclude the tortilla chip addition from kristi´s sister´s famous recipe because the closest thing i could find was nacho cheese flavored doritos and i didnt think that would be too delicious...but maybe next time i´ll have to give it a try. but yeah i made them with my friend gonzalo (hes argentine) and it was the funniest thing because he thought they were so picante( spicyyy). they werent for me, but then again i guess my palate is pretty used to the burn. he seriously finished a liter thing of milk while eating them. but to my surprise he actually liked them lol so we are going to work on adding in more spice to the food.
anyway, i finally got my charger yesterday! yaaaay! but alas.. apparently the internet in my building is not working! (WTF?) the telefiber thing for the entire building hasnt been working or something... lame! so hopefully that will be resolved soon and i can upload some pictures and not have to come to the computer lab or a locutorio to update on my life. but its good to have my compu back, listen to some music, charge my ipod, etc. also in the apartment they are doing some repairs and updates this week. we had a leak in our kitchen so that should be getting fixed and this morning i woke up to the wonderful perfume of fresh paint from our living room. yum yum yum
also i finally got my clothes washed yesterday (BIG YAYAY) and have to go pick them up here after clase. we have a ghetto little washing machine in my kitchen that looks to be from about 1956 but one of my roomies told me its better to jsut take your clothes to a lavaderia for like 7 pesos or something. so i found one semi near my house and will finally have some clean clothes! exciiiting. i think the pants i am wearing today are about 3 sizes bigger from wearing them and traveling and especially the rain! yesterday it rained like crazy and was a pretty uggo day. last night was the first night i was kind of cold when i was sleeping too, weird because we have centralized heating (i know, fancy) and i even had an extra blanket on my bed, but who knows. i woke up today to scary wind. i am looking forward to this winter crap to warm up and turn into spring. apparently october is the prettiest month here and i am quite excited.
well i am sorry i havent had the chance to write anyone any personalized emails but i swear i will this week! right now i have to run to class but leave me comments fools and i will defintely be writing when i can. love.
