its saturday and i am currently in a locutorio using a ghettooooooo computer for 1 peso and hour haha. how special really. i cannot wait to get my charger for my laptop! i finally found one and am getting it on monday, wooo woo. super expensive for just a stupid charger but i figure its pretty necessary especially for keeping in contact and schoolio.
anywaaay, the past few days have been pretty busy with my sonalipoo being here visitng me! on thursday night we went to this club called Club Sesenta Nueve (yeah club 69 lol) but it was really fun. apparently thursdays are the best night to go because there were all these break dancers who were pretty awesome and fun to watch. tons of energy. but even better there were these outrageous argentine dragqueens. i don´t think i have laughed so hard in a looong time haha. the place was packed, too and we danced there til 5 or 6 in the morning. yet pobrecita sonali lost her camera with all of her chile pictures on it!!!! :((( so horrible, i felt so bad, we looked all over for it and even went back the next day but no luck. really stupid, but i suppose it happens. blah. without that incident, the night would have been completely awesome.
friday afternoon Sonali and i ventured to this Museum called MALBA which had some pretty neat latin american art. although i am not the biggest art fan out there, especially not modern art, there were some really internest pieces. my favorites were by this fool Berni who made all these weird collages. i cant really explain it but you can google the argentine artist Berni and probably find something haha. he for instance made ths corcodile eating a lady sculpure but the materials he used included old baterries, door knobs, who knows, all sorts of crap lol but they were interesting. i also enjoyed the self portrait they had of Frida. Obviously sonali and i were prety tired from the dancing all night but we found some pretty entertaining pieces for sure. like this one that pictured a reaaaally round family, including a round dog and a lady with a sick mustache. and by round i mean really ROUND, haah very special really. they also had this exhibit of roy lichenstein or something this cartoonest who i didnt really like that much but whose peices had interesting names like ¨yellow brushstroke¨. outside of the museum there was this really neat mural that i took to represent argentine history. it was a huuuuuuge mural of different fotos representing different instances from the past and present, like violence from the dirty war and the people in transformation and etc. but then on top of this fotomrual was all these pieces of melted plastic that made it seem very dreamlike ad whispy. thre were also the remains of plastic toy guns that had been melt down and swirled all over. really hard to describe ad i couldnt take a picture because the guards kept giving me the evil eye lol but it ws really neat.
last night sonal and i cooked some dinner at my new apartment and then went out to hang out for awhile. we went to this pool bar near my apartment and to our surprise they carded us! wthaaaat, theres an age restriction in latin america??? since when? so that didnt work out too well but then we to this salsa club called Azucar. it was really fun, i love salsa and reggaeton ish stuff. i dunno what it is, its just so powerful and makes you want to dance. there wre some really good dancers there too, but sonali and i just had a really fun time with that as well. we decided not to sleep at all since snoali had to catch a cab tot he airport at like 5am haha so i hope she makes it hope safely and doesnt die!!
well today i am just doing some errands and am not sure abuot later. i might be going out with some of hte people from the hotewl (the one i was at before) haha. its funny ihave still seen them all a lot and its been neat meeting people from all over the world. either that or i am going to try now to get to know my roomies better. this week for sure, now that everything is settling down. they seem like really nice girls. oh and i finally unpacked my life!!! yaaay no more living out of a suitcase haha. tomorrow i am going to do some laundry too! we actually have a washer in our apt (if/how it works quien sabe lol, it looks to be about 27852 years old) but its about time because i am almsot out of socks and uderwear and my pants increased about 6 sizes and permantely smell like smoke from the restaurats, bars and clubs here.
